Docs to be sensitized about examining rape survivors
- The Union ministry of health and family welfare has issued new 'guidelines and protocols' for medico-legal care for survivors of sexual violence in March this year as per the CLA 2013. The new definition includes all forms of sexual violence: penetrative (oral, anal, vaginal) including by objects/weapons/fingers and non-penetrative (touching, fondling, stalking). Victims of all such violence have the right to treatment for all survivors by public and private health care facilities.
